Terms & Conditions

Watersports are all about fun — but like any adventure, they come with some ground rules. Give this a read before you hit the water with us.

Last updated: March 2026

Welcome Aboard

By booking any activity with Cartagena Surf 420 Nautica School, you agree to these terms and conditions.

These terms apply to all activities we offer: kitesurfing, surfing, paddleboarding, wakeboarding, and jet ski.

We reserve the right to update these terms. The latest version will always be available on this page.

Got questions about any of this? Hit us up on WhatsApp — we're happy to walk you through it.

Assumption of Risk

Watersports are adventure activities that carry inherent risks, including but not limited to: physical injury, drowning, sunburn, jellyfish stings, and encounters with marine life.

By participating in any activity, you voluntarily acknowledge and accept these risks.

Our instructors are certified and follow all safety protocols, but Mother Nature always has the final say.

Cartagena Surf 420 shall not be held liable for injuries, illness, or death that occur during or as a result of our activities, except in cases of proven negligence on our part.

Health & Insurance

We strongly recommend all participants carry travel insurance or health insurance that covers watersport activities.

Any medical, hospital, medication, or evacuation costs arising during or after an activity are the sole responsibility of the participant.

You must inform us of any pre-existing medical conditions, allergies, disabilities, or pregnancy before the activity.

We reserve the right to refuse participation if we believe your health condition could put you at risk.

Bring sunscreen, stay hydrated, and pack any personal medication you might need. The Caribbean sun doesn't play around!

Equipment & Gear

All equipment needed for your activity is included in the price and will be provided by us in good condition.

You are responsible for the equipment from the moment you receive it until you return it.

Any damage to equipment caused by negligence, misuse, or failure to follow instructor guidelines must be compensated by the participant.

The cost of repair or replacement will be charged based on the current value of the equipment.

Please don't bring your own gear unless you've coordinated with us in advance.

Bookings & Payments

Bookings are made via WhatsApp and confirmed upon payment.

We accept Nequi, Daviplata, bank transfer, PayPal, Visa, Mastercard, and Amex.

Prices are listed in Colombian Pesos (COP). For USD payments, the day's exchange rate applies.

Full payment is required to confirm your booking.

Participants under 18 must have signed authorization from a parent or legal guardian.

Weather & Cancellations

Watersport activities are weather-dependent. If conditions aren't safe, we'll reschedule your session at no extra cost.

Weather decisions are made by our team — if we say it's not safe, it's not safe. Your safety comes first.

Client cancellations with more than 24 hours notice: full refund or reschedule.

Cancellations with less than 24 hours: 50% retained for preparation costs.

No-shows: no refund. We know Cartagena has plenty of temptations, but please let us know if your plans change.

Photos & Videos

We may take photos and videos during your activity for use on social media, our website, and promotional materials.

By participating in our activities, you grant us permission to use these images for marketing purposes.

If you'd prefer not to appear in our content, just let us know before the activity and we'll absolutely respect that.

Photos from your session may be available to share — ask your instructor.

Respect the Environment

We love the ocean and want to keep it beautiful. No littering in the water or on the beach.

Respect marine life — don't touch corals, chase fish, or feed the animals.

If you spot floating trash during your session, help us pick it up. Every piece counts.

We use reef-safe sunscreen and recommend you do the same. The reefs will thank you.

Limitation of Liability

Cartagena Surf 420 Nautica School, its owners, employees, and instructors shall not be liable for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings during activities.

We are not responsible for injuries caused by failure to follow safety instructions given by our instructors.

Our maximum liability in any case shall not exceed the amount paid for the activity booked.

This limitation applies to the fullest extent permitted by Colombian law.

We recommend leaving valuables at your hotel. The ocean and smartphones have never been great friends.

Code of Conduct

Always follow your instructor's directions. They're there to make sure you have an incredible and safe time.

Participation under the influence of alcohol or substances that impair your physical ability or judgment is not permitted.

Treat instructors, fellow participants, and the local community with respect.

We reserve the right to end your session without refund if your behavior endangers yourself or others.

Good vibes are mandatory. Bad attitudes stay on shore.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Colombia.

Any disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of Cartagena de Indias, Bolívar, Colombia.

We operate in compliance with Colombia's General Maritime Directorate (DIMAR) regulations.

Our instructors hold current international certifications (IKO, ISA as applicable).
